Leadership

The Aurora Public Schools Board of Education must set the highest standard of courageous leadership.

Leadership begins with service to others and by believing that we’re all in this together; that we all bring valuable skills to the table; and that we all have an important role to play in the success of our children’s education.

Leaders hire the right people; trust them to do their jobs; support them with tools to do it better; ask the right questions; listen carefully to the answers; and push when necessary.

Leaders advocate for children and families; expect the best from them; provide opportunities for conversation; and offer avenues for engagement.

Leaders think systemically; use data to make informed decisions; implement change with fidelity; give change a chance to work; and move on when it doesn’t.

Leaders find common ground; act ethically; speak honestly; and work with integrity.
